Term Limits for Congress

Congress Should Have Term Limits

Karl Morris US Term Limits pledgeGood governance is an important part of my platform. Placing term limits on Congress is one of the ways we can make sure the government works for the people. As such, I have signed the US Term Limits pledge to place limits of 3 terms on representatives and 2 on senators. While I personally favor slightly higher limits, I see this as an improvement to the status quo. I commit to voting in support of such a bill.

Tesla Cars Keep Crashing and They Keep Hiding It

The self-driving revolution is in full swing, and some of the casualties of this technology are actual casualties. The NTSB is investigating Tesla for being slow to report crashes while their cars are in "Advanced Driver Assistance Systems" mode, which is a fancy way of saying the car is driving itself but the driver still needs to pay attention. Agency rules require accidents be reported within 5 days, but Tesla has had delays of several months. This prevents external review of the causes and impact of these accidents. Congress needs to write laws that make it illegal to delay reporting when autonomous technologies hurt or kill people, and have meaningful penalties when it occurs.

Democrats Need a Change

It's no secret: The Democratic Party is in bad shape. While polls show that Trump and his policies are losing support, and he continues to flex his authoritarian muscles, Democrats haven't been able to capitalize. What's more, according to the NYT, more voters under 45 are registering as Republican than Democrat. Voters want to move on from Trump, but the Democratic Party isn't giving them a viable option. People want new blood, new ideas, and new leaders, and all the party gives them are the same career politicians that want to hold onto power.

The party needs to change, and Philadelphia can take the lead! We can rejuvenate the Democratic Party by elevating new leaders! Let's bring diverse ideas and experiences to Washington and move on from the tired politics of decades past. I want to help bring that change, and I hope I can have your support!
