Our Government Doesn't Function — Even Without a Shutdown

We continue to see the National Guard being deployed in US cities. This is not normal! The president, with fabricated justification, continues to send troops into US cities over the objections of their governors and mayors. Our system of checks and balances fails unless each branch does its job, and right now Congress is failing to rein in a lawless president. The fawning and genuflecting that we've seen displayed by the Republicans in Congress for this, as well as the government shutdown, should disqualify them from ever holding office. The failure of congressional Democrats to properly and consistently message on this is political malpractice. Show the American people what a mess the Republicans have made and that our party is ready to lead! If you aren't able to make Republicans pay a political price while they currently have their hands on the hot stove, then it's time for new representatives to take up the fight!

We're Going to No Kings!

On October 18 at 12 PM we'll be at the No Kings protest at Philadelphia City Hall. In addition to lending our voices to the anti-authoritarian message of the movement, we'll be canvassing attendees by sharing literature and spreading the word about the campaign. We're looking for volunteers to help out! If you can, email volunteer@karlforcongress.us with your name and how long you'd like to volunteer (anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours). The event will run from 12 - 3 PM; however we'll only be canvassing from 12 - 2 PM to ensure volunteers have time to take part in other protest activities if they choose. Even if you can't volunteer, we hope to see you at the protest! Let's remind those in Washington that America has No Kings!

We know what it's like to be inundated with political emails. We get them too, and it can be a bit much. That's why as a general rule we keep our mailers to no more than one per week, with only rare exceptions. Despite this, there's always a lot happening on the campaign trail that we'd like to share with you. We've not been able to evade the realities of running a political campaign. We believe in our cause and will fight to the end, but doing so will take all of us.
