Your Data is Being WeaponizedJanuary 29, 2026
Stop the ICE-Palantir Surveillance StateIn a perfect storm of Orwellian dystopia, reports have confirmed that ICE is using a Palantir-developed AI tool to scour Medicaid data to identify targets for arrest. The "ELITE" app gets address information from the Department of Health and Human Services and uses it to map out areas for raids. In one fell swoop, a private corporation is misusing our unprotected personal data to target marginalized groups and make us all less safe, especially given the government's dismal record of data security. This is only one of the many systems emerging from Palantir following their $30 million contract to build "ImmigrationOS", a platform to track immigrants with unprecedented scale. Regardless of the noise from some members of Congress about ICE's overreach, this relationship and the systems being developed will receive zero scrutiny because Congress is afraid to address the complexities of modern technology. There will be no oversight, no hearings, and this misuse of our private data will only expand. On May 19, 2026, we can do something about it! On a related and disturbing note, it is deeply troubling that lawmakers, on both sides of the aisle, continue to profit from companies like Palantir while they are charged to provide oversight on their relationship with government agencies, such as ICE. Recent disclosures show that even Democrats, like Texas Representative Julie Johnson, have traded thousands in Palantir stock, even while vocally criticizing ICE’s actions. This isn't a partisan issue; it’s a systemic failure. We can never be certain if our representatives are serving their constituents or their portfolios. To restore public trust, we must end this conflict of interest and ban members of Congress from trading individual stocks.
